Onboarding a Materials Technology Company to Our Managed-IT Platform

Our client is a growing computational materials design and manufacturing firm based in Central Massachusetts. The organization was engaged as a client with another Managed Services Provider (MSP – Managed-IT provider) and was dissatisfied with the relationship. The firm decided to replace its MSP with ACS and we were tasked with overseeing its transition to our platform.

Managed IT

The Challenge

The company, which is producing cutting-edge nano-structured metal alloys, was working under a contract with a competitor of ACS’ and had decided to end its relationship with that firm at its termination date. We were made aware of the circumstances and our Client Services and Success Team reached out to establish a relationship and to offer our services.

The Results

After a series of discussions, during which we focused on learning about the company, its products, processes and technology support needs, its executive team decided to engage us as their new Managed Services Provider (MSP – Managed-IT Service provider).

As the company was reaching the end of its contract with its prior MSP, we advised them on both their offboarding process and their onboarding process with us. This also included:

  • Providing guidance on how to ensure that the wind down process was easy and efficient
  • Initiating regular touch points to ensure that our transition plan resulted in a seamless move

Complication
The company was leasing much of its technology infrastructure and equipment from its prior MSP. This included firewalls, switches and wireless access points, among other things.

Solution
ACS acquired and deployed all of the equipment to ensure that the transition occurred as planned.

The Impact

We had our new client up and running on the ACS Managed-IT platform within hours of the transition taking place and we continue to provide the company with those services as well as counsel and advice on how to strengthen its network and cybersecurity posture.
